The new DaletPlus Enterprise Edition is intended to connect the different hardware and software solutions within production and enable different applications via an open API interface. For this purpose, the DaletPlus Enterprise Edition includes various media-management solutions and is intended to be capable of storing or forwarding program feeds from tape or other external feeds.

Dalet currently offers the OpenMedia editorial systtem in version 3.2. Dalet presented current innovations and additional features at the IBC (stand 9.421). They are soon to be offered to customers and respectively a number of ARD broadcasters. According to Dr Edgar Müller, head of the Development Business Unit at Dalet Germany, the innovations also include OpenMediaConnect. This allows access from a main/client server to various remote and third-party servers. This is necessary if direct access to the computers of external or regional studios is to be possible from the central editorial office.

With the so-called “dynamic rights system”, Dalet will soon make it possible for its OpenMedia platform to formulate access conditions at an early stage of production and have them executed. The sports editorial team would then, for example, have the opportunity to process stored material for the politics editorial team. Also new is the future division of the servers into a production pool and an editorial pool: The different editorial sources are stored in the first, while processing takes place in the second.

From this, Dalet also developed the concept of a document network. This makes various servers and materials accessible for further processing via the OpenMedia platform. Because these are different server generations with regard to processing depth, access restrictions can also be set up here.
