With EditShare 4.0, HD projects can be edited uncompressed on the same NAS on which low-resolution editing is also handled. The scalable architecture of the collaborative editing system allows multiple EditShare units to be installed on the same network and addressed by the editor or administrator as a single server. A new Connection Manager simplifies connecting EditShare’s Media Spaces to the individual workstations.
A small client program allows the editor to browse comfortably through all Media Spaces and speeds access to the data at the next login. In version 4, the administrator finds an improved interface for managing Media Spaces and users. For example, universities and other large training centres can more easily administer hundreds of users who change from semester to semester.
EditShare 4.0 continues to support Avid solutions (Symphony, Media Composer and DS Nitris) as well as mirroring the system to additional servers. The solution is available immediately; the entry price is 13,750 euros.
