Episode is the name of a product series from Telestream (IBC stand 7.218) for Macintosh-based encoding. The product is the result of Telestream’s acquisition of encoding specialist Popwire.

Episode includes scalable desktop applications and server-based workgroup applications that prepare data for further distribution by podcast, Internet, mobile, DVD or IPTV. To prepare and process the data, Episode supplies a range of codecs, filters and compression techniques.

Telestream is also represented together with Mobix Interactive in the Mobile Zone (stand M247) as part of the IBC special exhibition. The companies are showing video-to-mobile products that are suitable, for example, for preparing existing video productions for the mobile market.

Telestream’s Flip Factory Mobile software automates ingest and transcoding into mobile and web formats as well as transfer to Mobix’ playout platform. From October 2006, the corresponding software solutions for video-on-demand applications as well as for iTunes will be available. With the likewise new GrafikFactory, Telestream automates the assembly of graphics applications in the file-based workflow.
