For the ninth time, filmmakers from every area of digital film production met at the eDIT Festival in Frankfurt from 24 to 26 September to hear international experts discuss the latest trends in feature films, animation, documentaries, visual effects, television and commercials. Despite a reduced budget and a programme shortened by one day, the organisers were satisfied with the festival’s results. “Our international guests at the ninth eDIT were enthusiastic,” said Udo Corts, Hesse’s Minister of Science and Art and patron of eDIT. “The many positive reactions show me that we are on the right track with ‘Filmland Hessen’.”
According to the organisers, the festival attracted a total of 1,905 visitors. With a smaller budget, it offered only two full programme days this year instead of three. The free eDIT:eDucation seminars for newcomers drew 200 participants, more than in the previous year, while the practical workshops were fully booked one week before the festival began.
The 10th eDIT Filmmaker’s Festival will take place in Frankfurt from 30 September to 2 October 2007.
