At the 2007 Handball World Championship in Germany (January 19 to February 04, 2007), Plazamedia is live on site on behalf of Sportfive. As host broadcaster, the sports TV producer is producing more than 270 hours of live images, and the company is creating the world feed for all matches of the 20th IHF Handball World Championship.
Plazamedia intends to stage the 92 games of the 24 participating teams with up to 14 cameras each. In addition to the modular Sportscam 3-chip digital camera system, several Pylon Cams are also to be used. This remote-controlled telescopic system produces particularly dynamic images through vertical camera movements. As a full-service provider for TV and new media, Plazamedia is on site at the 12 World Championship stadiums with up to six venue teams. The total of around 240 employees also provide technical support at the venues for the broadcasting channels and are available as contacts for questions concerning the live broadcast.
In addition, Plazamedia is handling the encoding of all 92 matches for the Internet streams on http://www.sportdigital.tv. The Plazamedia subsidiary Creation Club is creating the graphics for the opener sequence, the slow-motion wipe and the TV ident for the world feed.
The World Championship matches of the German team are broadcast live by ARD and ZDF as well as DSF. More than 90 international media companies from TV and radio report from the World Championship, which fans can follow in more than 140 countries.
