“Das aktuelle Shortstudio” packages short films by filmmakers from around the world into a 15-minute programme for watchaTV, the window for new content on ProSiebenSat.1 Mobile. Bitfilm Studios Hamburg produces the programme for watcha, the mobile television service operated by MFD Mobiles Fernsehen Deutschland.
Each episode groups comedy, action and animation shorts around a principal theme. International award winners appear alongside underground films, established film actors and comic characters. Arne Bremer, Business Development Manager at Bitfilm Studios, said successful mobile television increasingly required production decisions tailored to the medium. He said the programme reflected those requirements in both content selection and on-air design.
