The new Resolve 4.0 version connects various da Vinci systems with one another. It can import grades from da Vinci 2K in order to then perform the final grading in Resolve. Conversely, Resolve now has a “2K node” that also makes many da Vinci 2K functions such as 6-vector color correction, Custom Curves and Ripple available in Resolve.

In addition, many of Revival’s restoration functions are now integrated into Resolve. As an option for Resolve (Revival DnD), there is the function of opening individual clips from a Resolve project directly in da Vinci 2K or marking a clip so that an assistant can edit it in parallel on another system. The new Resolve Conform Station allows proxy generation in the background so that no valuable operator or system time is lost.

Da Vinci 2K Plus offers some improvements in image output. Output can now also be in 10 or 12 bits to meet modern projection techniques.

Revival received several new functions such as Dust & Dirt Removal, Degrain and noise reduction. With this new version, it is also possible to open files in the SAN that are being worked on simultaneously in Resolve. In addition, Revival now supports Kodak Digital Ice technology, in which even severe damage to the film material can be repaired by additionally reading an infrared image when scanning the film.
