The young French company V4x showed its V4x Sequencer for the first time at NAB, a production system for mobile phones and interactive web channels. The program is intended for broadcasters, production houses and content aggregators. According to the manufacturer, the 4x Sequencer can cover the entire production chain.
Already during ingest, it provides the material not only with a title but also with tags (for example news, Africa, Iraq). The material is then available in various views for a preview and can also still be changed in length.
The user creates his program in a timeline. Before inserting the clips, he can specify whether he wants to insert advertising only at the beginning or at the end of the program or also between the individual clips. For this, the Sequencer then automatically uses placeholders that are later replaced by advertising. Subsequences make it possible to insert thematically ordered clips. This is useful, for example, when creating news.
By means of additional audio layers, the user can add music to the clips. At the current time, however, no audio mixing is yet possible. Further editing steps include adding text information for titles, inserting logos and – especially exciting – interactivity. It is thus possible to include votings or send the program directly to friends.
Once the program has been completely created, 3GPP, MP4, Flash or also Quicktime are available as formats for export. The basic version of the V4x Sequencer is to cost 20,000 euros.
