Corel has introduced Ulead VideoStudio 11 and Ulead VideoStudio 11 Plus, new versions of its video editing and DVD authoring software. They are also certified for Windows Vista.
In addition to numerous new assistants, version 11 also offers the the ability to edit AVCHD files. The new Plus version is also a complete end-to-end solution for recording, editing, authoring and burning HD DVD videos. HD videos can be imported from AVCHD camcorders (hard disk and disc) and then edited in real time on (powerful) systems without proxies.
On the audio side, the Plus version of VideoStudio is also equipped with Dolby Digital 5.1 Creator Technology, which can convert 2-channel stereo sound into Dolby Digital 5.1 sound and then further optimize it.
Ulead VideoStudio 11 also contains tools for overlay video tracks that can combine transparencies with masks or chroma key effects and quickly remove unwanted elements. To make the chroma key settings easier to adjust, the preview window for the overlays displays the original overlay image. Thanks to the expanded timeline view in the Plus version, the various overlay and audio tracks can be displayed when working on projects with more than one overlay without having to use scrolling. The English-language version of Ulead VideoStudio 11 Standard or Ulead VideoStudio 11 Plus is available now; the German and French versions will come to stores from June 2007. The recommended retail price is 69.95 euros for the Standard version, 99.95 euros for the Plus version and 59.95 euros for the Plus upgrade (all prices including VAT).
