Postgraduate Technical Director Program at the Animation Institute Ludwigsburg

Until May 21, 2007, interested parties can still apply for the postgraduate Technical Director program at the Institute of Animation, Visual Effects and Digital Postproduction of the Film Academy Baden-Württemberg in Ludwigsburg. In view of films and entertainment media becoming increasingly technically elaborate, graduates of the postgraduate Technical Director program would have excellent career opportunities, the academy advertises.

Applicants can enter directly into the 3rd year of the Animation project program. The prerequisite is at least the intermediate diploma from a university of applied sciences, college or university in computer science, mathematics or comparable degree programs. German and English language skills as well as initial experience in the media field should be demonstrated through work samples. In film productions, the Technical Director (TD) represents the link between the artistic- creative process and technical implementation. TDs implement, for example, new ideas in the areea of animation or computer graphics, check their practical suitability and define production processes (pipelines). In addition, they develop tools for the more efficient everyday work of animators and visual effects specialists.
