The mystery series “Heroes” is one of the very big favorites this year and was honored with a total of eight nominations, including in the categories “Best Series” and “Best Direction”. Masi Oka is in the running as “Best Supporting Actor”.
The series “Rome” was nominated in a total of seven categories, including “Best Cinematography”, “Best Special Effects”, “Best Costumes” and “Best Music”.
Kiefer Sutherland was once again nominated for an “Emmy” as “Best Leading Actor” for his role as Jack Bauer in “24”, and Jean Smart once again as “Best Guest Actress” for her role as the president’s wife Martha Logan. The real-time series received another five nominations, including for “Best Stunts”.
Mariska Hargitay was already honored in 2006 for her leading role in the crime series “Law & Order: New York” and may once again hope for the coveted award this year. Marcia Gay Harden and Leslie Caron were both nominated in the “Best Guest Actress” category.
The sci-fi highlight “Battlestar Galactica” was nominated in four categories: “Best Direction”, “Best Screenplay”, “Best Special Effects” and “Best Sound”.
Also represented are the mini-series “The Lost Room” (two nominations) and the RTL II sitcom “According to Jim” (“Best Cinematography”).
