Apple shipped 1,764,000 computers in the third quarter of fiscal year 2007, corresponding to an increase of 33 percent over the comparable year-ago quarter and an absolute increase of 150,000 Macs compared with what had previously been the best quarter in the company’s history. 9,815,000 iPods went over the counter in the past quarter, 21 percent more than in Q3/2006.

“We are delighted to be able to announce the best June quarter for sales and revenue in the company’s history, accompanied by the highest-ever sales of Macs in a quarter”, Steve Jobs, CEO of Apple, says. “The iPhone has made a very good start – we hope that by the end of this, the first quarter fully attributed to sales, we will sell the millionth iPhone – and we have other new, very compelling products in the pipeline.”

“We are very pleased with the strong result; from operating activities we were able to generate 1.2 billion US dollars in additional cash flow”, adds Peter Oppenheimer, Apple’s Chief Financial Officer. “For the fourth fiscal quarter of 2007, we expect revenue of 5.7 billion US dollars or 0.65 US dollars per diluted share.”
