Kaspersky Lab wants to enter the market with its own hosted-security offering before the end of this year. For this purpose, the experienced Fuhrmann was recruited, who had made BlackSpider Technologies a leading provider in this field from a startup in only 18 months. Previously, he was a board member at the listed Articon-Integralis AG, where he was responsible for the end-consumer business. Before this time, he was responsible for Central-and Eastern Europe as Director at network provider Emulex Europe.

“Kaspersky Lab sells security. To protect against malware and spam, however, it is not necessarily required to install software locally, whose maintenance the companies must then take care of”, Fuhrmann says. “Many companies quite simply want virus- and spam-free emails – without major administrative effort. With Kaspersky Hosted Security Services, companies acquire not only an excellent security solution but increase the reliability of the infrastructure while simultaneously reducing costs.”

Fuhrmann has more than 20 years of experience in the IT and telecommunications industry. He is particularly well versed in mergers and acquisitions and specializes in building new branches in Europe.

“We are pleased to have gained such a successful manager in the field of Hosted Security for our company in Günter Fuhrmann”, Natalya Kaspersky, CEO of Kaspersky Lab, says. “With Hosted Security, we are strengthening our offering for companies of all sizes.”

Only in the spring had Kaspersky Lab presented Open Space Security, a security solution for corporate networks.
