Axel Diekmann Becomes New Managing Director of Kaspersky Labs GmbH

Axel Diekmann is to become the new Managing Director of Kaspersky Labs GmbH and will therefore manage the Russian company's business in Germany, Austria and Switzerland from January 1, 2008. The 44-year-old has worked as Channel Sales Manager for Kaspersky Lab since 2004. He succeeds Andreas Lamm, who is taking over the company's European business as Managing Director Europe.

On January 1, 2008, five regional headquarters will be established to support and coordinate the activities of the local branches. Kaspersky Lab once again publishes its top ten greediest, nastiest, smallest, largest, best-hidden and most hostile pests. September seems to be a month of trojans: eight of ten extreme pests belong to this genus. The ranking includes dangerous 19-byte midgets and 243-MB giants, an old acquaintance in the e-mail distribution category and trojans, viruses and worms with numerous variants.

Kaspersky Lab integrates PhishTank database into Kaspersky Internet Security 7.0

Kaspersky Lab is now integrating the PhishTank database into the anti-phishing module of Kaspersky Internet Security 7.0. The PhishTank service from the Californian company OpenDNS collects known phishing websites in a database that is constantly updated by the international open-source community. Kaspersky Lab has also been actively participating in this project for some time and supplements the PhishTank database with its own information about phishing sites.
