ProSiebenSat.1 Produktion is getting a new Chairman of the Management Board. The current Managing Director Dr. Christian Wegner, 33, succeeds Frank Meißner starting in August, who takes on new duties as Managing Director for Production & Technology at the news channel N24.
As Chairman of the Management Board, Dr. Christian Wegner will continue to be responsible for the commercial management of ProSiebenSat.1 Produktion as well as the Creative Solutions and Broadcasting Services operating business areas. The current Managing Director Dr. Martin Emele remains responsible in this function for the Technology area and pushes the consistent further development of ProSiebenSat.1 Produktion into the “technology competence center” of the overall group. In addition, on an acting basis he assumes responsibility for the production areas at the Berlin and Munich locations.
Frank Meißner, the current Chairman of the Management Board of ProSiebenSat.1 Produktion, sees the company as ideally equipped for the future with the management change: “I could not wish for a better successor than Christian Wegner at the top of the company. Together with him and Martin Emele, as management we have steered ProSiebenSat.1 Produktion onto the right course in recent years. I am convinced that the two will continue to follow this path consistently and sustainably and wish them all the best and much success in doing so.”
Dr. Christian Wegner came from management consultancy McKinsey to the management of ProSiebenSat.1 Produktion in May 2004 and took responsibility for strategy and finance. After the realignment of finance and the reorganization of the commercial area, he was additionally responsible for the Creative Solutions business area from May 2006. In October of last year, he moved up to the Management Board and since January 2007 has additionally been operationally responsible for the Broadcasting Services area.
