To win the title, as it were the Iron Man of the animation scene, the competing participants have 32 hours to create a Character animation with a duration of at least 15 seconds. The theme of the animation is announced only at the start of the competition. The contest between the participating teams takes place at the San Diego Convention Center in front of a live audience and judges.
While the participants demonstrate their ability, talent, creativity, teamwork skills and endurance, some additional distraction is provided around them in the form of musical performances, belly dancing and martial arts performances.
The animators can use 3ds Max, Maya, Photoshop, After Effects and Flash as well as XSI as tools.
