The newcomer “Transformers” by director Michael Bay (“Armageddon”) fights its way into second place, in which hostile robot races battle each other in space and also endanger humans. The robots push “Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix” down to third place. “Because I Said So” by director Michael Lehmann lands in fourth position straight away. In this entertaining comedy, he has Diane Keaton, as the mother of three daughters, search for a man for the youngest. The thriller “Live Free or Die Hard” slipped from third to fifth place.
Cinema visitor numbers were determined from August 2 to 5 in 339 auditoriums of the Cinemaxx cinemas with a total of around 89,000 seats.
