Resident Evil: Extinction

The first two films Resident Evil and Resident Evil: Apocalypse have so far generated total worldwide revenues of more than 600 million US dollars. For Resident Evil: Extinction, the proven producer team of Bernd Eichinger, Samuel Hadida, Robert Kulzer, Jeremy Bolt and Paul W.S. Anderson is also coming together again.

Russell Mulcahy, who has been regarded as a specialist in action spectacles since the fantasy blockbuster “Highlander”, takes over directing. Paul W.S. Anderson wrote the screenplay for Resident Evil: Extinction. Alongside Milla Jovovich, Oded Fehr (“Die Mumie”, “Die Mumie kehrt zurück”), Mike Epps (“The Fighting Temptations”) and Iain Glen (“Königreich der Himmel”) are once again in front of the camera in the sequel. Ali Larter (“Final Destination”, “Final Destination 2”) was cast in the role of Claire. US R’n’B star and Grammy® winner Ashanti (“Coach Carter”, “John Tucker Must Die”) shows in the role of Betty that, alongside music, she also convinces as an actress.

Plot: Almost 99 percent of the Earth’s population are now infected with the deadly virus. No easy game for Alice (Milla Jovovich) and her fellow fighters Carlos Oliviera (Oded Fehr), L.J. (Mike Epps) and Claire (Ali Larter). On the way to Arcadia – the only place in Alaska where people can still survive – the group must once again fight against the dark machinations of Dr. Isaacs (Iain Glen) and the Umbrella Corporation. Isaacs has had Alice cloned hundreds of times into a battle armada in order to control the infected and also the survivors. But an anti-virus has mutated. And nothing seems able to stop this mutant any more…
