Orad and Cinegy announced a joint broadcast-graphics workflow designed to register graphic assets, including templates, rundowns, clips, and audio files, in a database shared by multiple users across different locations. The companies planned to show the system at Orad stand 9.510 during IBC 2007 in Amsterdam.
Media storage remains transparent to users. Metadata can be associated with assets and used to search the database. Storing Orad graphics in Cinegy’s media-asset-management system is intended to improve the complete production workflow. Rights management controls user authorisation, permissions, and access to catalogued video and audio clips, stills, documents, and other material through predefined filters or metadata searches. Administration tools for database maintenance, backup, and synchronisation are included.
The modular system can be adapted to broadcasters of different sizes and is intended to make Orad real-time 3D graphics more accessible. “This new solution will complement Orad’s Maestro HD/SD 3D character generator and is one of several systems designed specifically to simplify and extend broadcast production,” said Orad chief executive Avi Sharir. Cinegy chief executive Daniella Weigner said the company’s IT- and database-based systems would enable Orad to offer a more effective and cost-efficient workflow.
