ZDFinfo Channel Expands via DVB-T

The ZDFinfo channel became available free over DVB-T on 1 September 2007. Existing viewers need to run a new automatic channel scan.

A DVB-T set-top box, a television with an integrated DVB-T receiver, or a DVB-T module for PC or Mac is required. The expansion of digital terrestrial television coverage in Germany will continue steadily during the second half of 2007. The next DVB-T regions to launch will be Magdeburg, the Harz region, Wittenberg, and the surrounding area on 9 October, followed by the Sauerland and Siegerland regions on 13 November and Aachen on 20 November. Digital terrestrial television coverage will also expand further across Bavaria, Baden-Württemberg, Rhineland-Palatinate, and Saarland by the end of the year. Around 80 percent of the population will then be able to receive digital television via a rooftop antenna. The nationwide transition from analogue to digital terrestrial broadcasting is scheduled for completion by the end of 2008.
