Eyeon is now also providing version 5.2 of its Fusion compositing software as a free Learning Edition, which is intended for trying out the functionality and learning the software. The Learning Edition differs from the retail version through integrated watermarks intended to prevent commercial use.
According to Eyeon, the functionality has not been cut back, with two exceptions: On the one hand, no third-party plug-ins can be integrated, and saved projects cannot be opened in commercially licensed versions of Fusion. Users of the Learning Edition are also to receive the same support as regular Fusion buyers. In April, the company also intends to release new tutorials and new training material.
Compared with the previous version, Fusion 5.2 brings more than a hundred major and minor improvements and changes. For example, a new Vector Motion Blur tool that calculates motion blur from motion information stored in the velocity channels of the vector daat. The 3D scene import now allows artists to import 3D data and information in the FBX, 3DS, OBJ and COLLADA.dae formats. The 3D LUTs are now supported in real time and accelerated by the graphics card.
