The new Quantel 3D systems also take account of the requirements of demanding stereo projects. Difficulties with color measurement, synchronization, in editing or image design can be solved contextually. Other special 3D functions include a comparison mode (’50/50 mix’, left/right eye, difference display) and the ability to check whether the left/right eye connection is interrupted. All this leads to a genuine WYSIWYG experience for the operator.

The new Stereo 3D toolset is available as an option for all new Pablo 4K, iQ4 and Max 4K systems. In addition, all existing Pablo 4K or iQ systems can be upgraded with Stereoscopic 3D, thus ensuring an end-to-end stereo workflow including previsualization, editing, VFX, color correction, trailer creation and mastering. Stereo projects can be realized contextually in this way and are no longer based on assumptions. The Stereoscopic 3D option for Pablo iQ and Max offers the function for playout and synchronous processing of two simultaneous streams in HD or 2K without rendering.?

In order also to meet the requirements of cost-sensitive postproduction studios, Quantel offers a new workstation named ‘Sid’ that is specifically geared toward stereoscopic postproduction. Sid is available in two configurations, as a complete stereo online system and as a solution solely for viewing, conforming and mastering.

All of Quantel’s Stereo 3D products will be available after IBC.
