Bavaria Builds Lissi 4D Motion Ride

Bavaria Filmstadt combines stereoscopic projection, six-axis seats, effects and IOSONO spatial audio in a five-and-a-half-minute ride.

Bavaria Filmstadt created a five-and-a-half-minute 4D motion-cinema ride tied to the animated film Lissi und der wilde Kaiser.

The production placed its characters in a computer-generated snowboard chase. Stereoscopic digital projection presented the imagery to viewers wearing 3D glasses.

Hydraulic cinema seats moved on six axes in synchronisation with the picture. Physical special effects accompanied the motion and screen action.

An IOSONO sound system positioned audio freely around the room to extend the spatial presentation.

The attraction was scheduled to open at Bavaria Filmstadt in October 2007 alongside the film’s theatrical release.
