NEC Adds 19- and 22-inch Widescreen Displays

NEC’s AccuSync LCD19WMGX and LCD22WMGX add 16:10 panels, HDCP, 5 ms response and multimedia inputs to its entry-level range.

NEC Display Solutions introduced the 19-inch AccuSync LCD19WMGX and 22-inch LCD22WMGX widescreen displays.

Both used 16:10 panels, OptiClear glossy surfaces, a 5 ms response time and a stated contrast ratio of 1000:1. Specified brightness values were 300 and 400 cd/m².

The 19-inch model provided analogue and HDCP-capable digital inputs at 1440 × 900 resolution. The 22-inch version added HDMI, component video, integrated front speakers and support for 576p, 720p, 1080i and 1080p signals.

The displays were intended for office applications, digital images, DVDs, television, PC games and consoles. NEC said the widescreen format provided more space for toolbars and side-by-side content than conventional displays.

The LCD19WMGX was immediately available for €299 including VAT. The LCD22WMGX was scheduled for mid-October 2007 at €419. Both included VGA and DVI-D cables and carried a three-year warranty covering the backlight.
