To find candidates of appropriate caliber, the software company GAX Technologies, which specializes in the financial sector, developed Working Worlds’ (http://www.working-worlds.com).
This is the country’s first virtual job fair on the Luxembourg
Business’ island of Second Life, which takes place on Wednesday, November 28, 2007.
Thanks to Working Worlds’, specialists interested in a job in the Luxembourg of the real world’ can make valuable contacts at virtual 3D trade-fair stands of various recruiters, agencies, private companies and financial institutions, present their résumé free of charge and spontaneously take part in job interviews.
Cornelia den Hartog, managing director of GAX Technologies, says: “As the labor market in Luxembourg continuously grows larger, the need for qualified specialists is also growing. In the search for new talent, Luxembourg also recruits internationally. Working Worlds’ gives specialists the chance to give their job search in a country a quick start that they would otherwise not
reach so quickly – namely via the medium Second Life.”
And she adds: “A dynamic candidate can leave a meaningful, creative first impression here in an uncomplicated way, with which they can present themselves and their knowledge without having to bear the costs that normally arise. If the candidate is successful, they enjoy the many advantages that Luxembourg has to offer, which include a high salary and many
tax advantages.”
However, advantages also arise for the recruiters. In cooperation with GAX Technologies, all companies represented in Working Worlds’ receive their own tailor-made 3D office or trade-fair stand at which they can conduct job interviews or presentations. As Ms. Den Hartog further explains, “companies
with a trade-fair stand at this fair will receive a huge amount of applications from candidates from all over the world, and it will be easy to assess applicants who are normally outside Luxembourg’s reach. Second Life provides a large selection of specialists who would do both themselves and our economy a favor if they accepted a job in
our country.”
