NomadsLand extended its revenue-sharing platform for independent films and documentaries to written citizen journalism through NomadsLand Post.
The service attached text or video advertising to individual works and paid creators half of the revenue generated by advertising and paid downloads. Royalties continued while an article or film attracted traffic.
Filmmakers and journalists could upload work addressing current social or political subjects. A distributed editorial team curated submissions, while a database connected filmmakers, journalists and video professionals seeking collaborators.
The catalogue included films previously shown at festivals such as IDFA, Tribeca, AFI Fest, Hot Docs and One World. NomadsLand said it had recorded tens of thousands of paid downloads and streams.
