Filming for THE INFORMERS is taking place in Los Angeles, Buenos Aires and Uruguay. A top-class cast was secured – Oscar winners Billy Bob Thornton and Kim Basinger as well as Winona Ryder, Mickey Rourke, Amber Heard, Jon Foster, Lou Taylor Pucci, Austin Nichols and Chris Isaak take the leading roles in the Senator-financed project, which Senator Film Distribution will bring to German cinemas in 2008.

THE INFORMERS takes the viewer on a journey through the seductive, bizarre and desolate Los Angeles of Ellis’ youth. The author paints a picture of a gentle apocalypse by interweaving seven stories, all of which take place within the same week in 1983: studio bosses, rock stars, groupies, tanned teenagers, frustrated wives and everything else that has rank and name in L.A. move through the moral wasteland for which the literary chronicler is known.
