PanoMotion Pro Covers DTM in 360 Degrees

PanoMotion Pro supplies steerable live 360-degree views from the pit lane during the 2007 DTM season finale at Hockenheim.

Hamburg production company broad|Support used PanoMotion Pro for live international coverage of the DTM season finale at Hockenheim on 14 October 2007. The system generated real-time 360-degree moving images for the television production.

PanoMotion Pro combined a high-resolution camera with a specialist lens. The production team could steer virtual pans and camera moves around the full 360-degree image, using the result live or as an analysis tool for pit-stop coverage.

The system had been tested since May before its first use in a television production at the DTM finale. WIGE Media, responsible for the overall DTM television production, supported the deployment.

Videor Technical distributed PanoMotion Pro and participated in its development. The setup also used the compact MODULA HDTV camera developed by easylook Systems with the Fraunhofer Institute.
