Barrow, Alaska: Every year in winter, night remains for a month in the remote small town. No daylight, no sun, only darkness … for 30 days. It is a hard time in which most residents leave their home for the south. But this year it gets even worse: As soon as the last rays of sunlight have disappeared on the horizon, a group of mysterious strangers comes to the town in search of food. And this food is the residents of Barrow who stayed behind, upon whom the newcomers literally pounce. Sheriff Eben (Josh Hartnett) and his wife Stella (Melissa George) stand in the way of the aggressive vampires in order to save the residents of Barrow. But the night is still long and the number of survivors keeps getting smaller …

“Spider-Man” director Sam Raimi produced this bloody horror thriller together with his long-standing business partner Rob Tapert (“The Grudge”), in which Josh Hartnett (“Black Dahlia”, “Sin City”) goes vampire hunting as a provincial sheriff. Further roles in this adaptation of the graphic novel of the same name by Steve Niles were taken by Melissa George (“The Amityville Horror”), Danny Huston (“Children of Men”) and Ben Foster (“Alpha Dog”). It was directed by David Slade, who caused a worldwide sensation last year with the uncompromising thriller “Hard Candy”.

30 Days Of Night opens on November 8, 2007.
