„Malware has long ceased to be fun for teenagers keen to experiment,
but a billion-euro business,“ explains Günter Fuhrmann, Director Hosted Security
Europe at Kaspersky Lab. „Today, no company can afford to forgo
protection of its IT infrastructure. In addition to the local installation of a security solution, Kaspersky Lab now also offers its customers security as a service.“
The three services mailDefend, webDefend and imDefend can be booked separately or in
combination. In all cases, data traffic is redirected through
Kaspersky Lab servers with the highest availability and then delivered to customers free of
malware and spam. For this purpose, Kaspersky Lab has set up
several new data centers throughout Europe.
Among other things, availability,
delivery delay and detection rate are firmly agreed through Service Level Agreements (SLAs). In addition, companies’ security-
policies can be mapped exactly through the administration portal,
through which the customer also retains control of their settings at all times. With
little effort, the security requirements for the entire company are administered centrally there. Exact, customizable reporting provides a precise overview of compliance with the specifications.
The individual offerings at a glance:
mailDefend – The largest entry point for malicious programs is e-mail
communication; in addition, on average more than 70 percent of messages are
unwanted spam. mailDefend counters this with cascading virus protection and
comprehensive spam protection. In this way, Kaspersky Lab guarantees one hundred percent
freedom from viruses for malware known to the company and at least 95-
percent freedom from spam. Messages can be checked both incoming and outgoing. With Content Control, mails are also checked for a specific size or
content and sorted out if necessary.
webDefend – All Internet traffic can also be redirected technically without problems through
a Kaspersky Lab data center. There, the data traffic is checked for
malware and content and blocked accordingly. A URL filter blocks– depending on company policy – access to websites in categories defined in advance
and thus ensures compliance with company guidlines.
imDefend – Instant Messaging (IM) has recently gained enormously in
importance in the corporate environment. imDefend checks the IM data stream for viruses and IM spam
(SPIM). A check of the content is also possible.
With all services, companies can increase the number of
protected users within a few hours without having to invest in new hardware and software.
The trouble-free, high scalability particularly benefits rapidly growing
companies.
Including 24/7 support, SLA and all other service guarantees, a 25-user license for mail, spam and virus protection costs 826,- euros (plus statutory VAT) per year. From 50 users, tiered-price discounts apply. If companies already use Kaspersky products, the „Kaspersky Sidegrade“ applies with a discount of 20 percent: In this case, a company with 500 users would pay only 9,600 euros instead of 12,000 euros.
