n-tv plus added an archive, full-screen playback, direct website links and a permanent advertising format to its interactive television service. Developed by n-tv with Pixelpark and Microsoft, the service had launched in early 2007.
The platform combined n-tv’s linear programme with synchronized supplementary information, on-demand programmes, video clips, charts and voting. Users could configure news and stock tickers. Access was available through Windows Vista Media Center on a PC or through a compatible set-top box on a television. The service recorded up to 318,000 accesses per month.
Archive and presentation
The archive organized clips about current topics, news programmes and business shows by day and week. A new full-screen mode could hide the ticker bars.
Advertising and links
A permanent Partner plus button on the start screen opened advertising content for a selected customer. Pioneer Investments was the first advertiser to use the placement through n-tv sales house IP Deutschland.
The update also allowed direct links from n-tv plus to external websites, particularly for advertising campaigns.
