Starting November 11, the Internet portal Game On will be the venue for the world’s first “World in Conflict” (WIC) cup season. A total of 5,000 euros in prize money beckons participants.

The strategy game “World in Conflict” from Vivendi Games, optimized for Intel multi-core processors, has been available in German stores since September 21. The competition will be held in eight cups, whose respective winners will be rewarded with 500 euros. The winner of the final round receives a further 1,000 euros in prize money. In addition, further high-quality hardware prizes from Intel and exclusive World in Conflict merchandise from Sierra Entertainment beckon.

Users of PCs or notebooks with Intel Core 2 Extreme processors in particular experience extraordinary gameplay: In collaboration with Intel, Vivendi/Massive optimized the game specifically for the Intel Core microarchitecture with two or four processor cores.

For “mobile gamers,” World in Conflict offers two special features that the game studio developed in collaboration with Intel: In battery operation, a frame blocker reduces the number of displayed images – this ensures lower power consumption with almost equivalent gameplay. In addition, a permanent battery display in the game ensures that no game progress is lost anymore: before the battery can no longer go on, the player has enough time to save the game state.
