What makes Bionade so successful, who makes dirty water clean again, and why does the whole world buy solar technology from Germany? Starting Saturday, November 10, 2007, the new series “World Class” presents successful ideas and the personalities behind them on the ZDF info channel.
In six episodes, viewers get to know Frank Asbeck of Solarworld, Peter Kowalsky and Bionade, Leo Lübke and his furniture, Andreas Langenscheidt and his eponymous publishing house, Hans Huber’s “Water for Everyone” and the world market leader for prostheses. The entrepreneurs and inventors named led their companies to the top of the world in their respective industries. The 15-minute documentaries describe how they succeeded and what drives them.
Frank Asbeck of Solarworld industrialized eco-electricity and brought it out of the tinkering corner – he is lord in the “Realm of the Sun.” With the Bionade drink, Peter Kowalsky became an early beneficiary of the organic boom in Germany. Tim Gorbauch’s film about the “Organic Miracle from the Rhön” was nominated for the 2007 German Business Film Award in mid-October. Leo Lübke is one of the great “Architects in the Living Room” – the furniture from Interlübke appears timeless and independent of fashionable influences. Andreas Langenscheidt mediates between two languages, and Hans Huber knows best how dirty water becomes clean again – he makes “Water for Everyone” from India to South America. Hans Georg Näder works for the world market leader for prostheses, with which athletes with disabilities can run faster than the healthy competition.
