Corel Corporation is launching DVD Copy 6 Plus. With the help of the new version, users can copy unencrypted DVDs and convert videos in order to play them on PCs, home theater systems and the latest mobile devices such as the Apple iPhone. This allows users to watch their favorite videos at home or on the move. Conversion takes place in only three simple steps. Converted videos can be shared over the Internet and sent to iPhone, iPod, Play Station Portable, Zune or Nintendo DS as well as a wide variety of PDAs and mobile telephones. Users can even transfer videos directly to iPod or Play Station Portable without intermediate steps. DVD Copy 6 Plus is now available from specialist retailers. The recommended retail price is 39,99 euros. The upgrade version is available exclusively as a download from 29,99 euros. All prices include value-added tax. Further information can be found at http://www.corel.de.

DVD Copy 6 Plus offers more conversion options than any other application of this kind and now supports:

DivX Ultra – Imports and creates high-definition DivX video files with image sizes up to 1440 x 1080.

Xvid – Enables conversion to the popular P2P format

H.264 HD – This makes it possible to save storage space while maintaining high quality.

MPEG-2 HD – Ensures that videos converted to the HDTV format can be played at home.

DVD Copy 6 Plus also supports AVCHD and HDV, including direct imports from the latest AVCHD camcorders. With the help of the user-friendly CopyLater technology, users can schedule the conversion of several videos one after another – no one has to sit at the PC anymore; the computer can also work all night. Intelligent folder monitoring makes it possible to convert videos automatically when they arrive. DVD Copy 6 Plus can even automatically calculate the best audio and video bit-rate settings. Storage space can be saved in this way. It is also possible to carry out transfers to portable devices at specified times.

Corel rounds off its new copying and conversion suite with seven bonus applications, including WinDVD 8 Silver, the powerful video and DVD playback software. Virtual Drive can be used to create virtual drives and upload images to these drives. So that users can customize their DVDs individually, DVD Copy 6 Plus also includes Disc Label – the leading disc labeling software with LightScribe support.

„New compression techniques and HD standards make it possible to display high-quality videos even on compact mobile devices, but the amount of video content is limited and expensive”, says Petter Nordwall, Director Corel International Product Management. „Consumers want a way to easily watch their self-recorded television programs and videos on the move. Corel’s answer to this is the development of DVD Copy 6 Plus – a simple copying and conversion solution that supports a wide range of formats and creates videos that can be watched on all common players and mobile devices.”

DVD Copy 6 Plus is certified for Windows Vista and the Intel Core Duo processor and offers optimization for faster copying and conversion with the new Intel processors.
