In the category “Best Program-Related Design Package”, ZDF was honored for its sports design newly created in 2006 under the motto “The Perfect Moment”. In particular, the opening titles of the new ZDF sports design showed the ‘perfect moment’ of top sporting achievements, the jury’s reasoning states. “From the opener to the legendary goal wall in ‘aktuelles sportstudio’ – a modern and dynamic appearance for all ZDF sports formats”, says the jury.
The prize in the category “Best On-Air Promotion Spot for Non-Fictional Programming” also went to ZDF for the spot for the 2006 European Athletics Championships in Gothenburg. The reasoning for the prize states: “Rarely have throwing implements been used so brutally as well as accurately. In only 20 seconds, javelin and discus show the viewer the way to Gothenburg, where the European Athletics Championships took place.”
In addition to the awards, ZDF received three further distinctions: The campaign “2057 – Our Life in the Future” was honored for “best design of print or poster advertising”. In the category “Best Social Spot”, ZDF received a distinction for the spot about Museum Island. In the category “Best Website of a Media or Communications Company”, the ZDF homepage http://www.zdf.de was honored.
The renowned “Eyes and Ears Award” was presented on Thursday, November 8, 2007, as part of Medientage München.
