With Cineplex Münster, a German cinema has for the first time installed a digital projection system offering the highest resolution required by Hollywood studios in the DCI specifications: 4K (4,096 × 2,160 pixels). The cinema, one of Germany’s most successful multiplexes, is among the first in Europe to introduce such an installation into daily regular operation, initially on a trial basis. “We are convinced that 4K projection is the future of cinema presentation. We are therefore particularly proud to be the first German cinema to present digital images in 4K resolution to our audience. The quality is breathtaking—and not least for this reason, we will continue to champion this technology in the future,” emphasised Felix Esch, owner and operator of Cineplex Münster.
