Procon has received its first major contract to provide technical equipment for venues at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing. The contract is worth more than US$4 million.
The company had previously served as a principal technical provider for opening and closing ceremonies at the 2000 Olympics in Sydney and the 2004 Games in Athens. Other recent projects included the 2006 Asian Games in Doha, the 2007 Pan American Games in Rio de Janeiro, Singapore’s National Day and the 2007 Special Olympics World Summer Games in Shanghai.
Morten Carlsson, Chief Executive of Procon MultiMedia AG, said the contract reflected the company’s ability to compete in Asia. He cited twenty years of experience across more than 10,000 events and said Procon expected to pursue further international large-event work during 2008.
