The merger of two of the largest game manufacturers creates the world’s largest pure game manufacturer: Vivendi Games, which includes Blizzard Entertainment with “World of Warcraft”, among others, and Activision (including Guitar Hero, Tony Hawk and Call of Duty) are merging to form “Activision Blizzard” .
The new company will be a subsidiary of Activision. In return, Vivendi Games parent company Vivendi will acquire a stake in Activision.
The merger is to be completed in the first half of 2008, if everything goes as planned.
