Primera Technology, manufacturer of duplication and printing systems for optical media, supports Apple’s new Premium Reseller Programme. The company is currently building a network of shops in major German cities where professional users and corporate customers can receive advice directly on site. The extravagant business model provides that visitors can not only buy devices, but also test them or take part in regular seminars and events covering the latest technologies. As a special service, the Apple Premium Resellers also offer the burning and printing of optical media “on demand” directly in the branch. The robust Disc Publisher XR from Primera Technology is used for this, which, in addition to individual items and small runs, can also burn and print up to fifty CDs or DVDs in a single operation. Furthermore, only waterproof optical media are used. This prevents the high-quality print from smudging. At the customer’s request, Blu-ray Discs can also be processed with the device thanks to Panasonic’s SW-5582-C universal burner.

The “XR” duplication and printing system from the Disc Publisher family supports the Unix operating system Mac OS X, which also applies to the current version 10.5, better known by the name “Leopard”, which has only recently been available on the market. “The figure just published by Apple that the company sold around 2.2 million computers in the fourth quarter of the last financial year alone, and thus 34 percent more than in the comparable quarter of the previous year, demonstrates the growing popularity of Mac systems,” says Primera Managing Director Andreas Hoffmann. “The opening of the Premium Reseller Shops in major German cities will provide a further boost. The concept pursued there with its many additional services is unique, and our idea of also offering burning and printing ‘on demand’ in future fits it perfectly.” The starting signal for the cooperation between Apple’s Premium Reseller Shops and Primera Technology will be given on December 8, when mStore Munich, operated by “Abbeys Digital Lifestyle”, opens its doors. This is the first shop of its kind in the south of the republic. Other Premium Resellers can be found in Kiel, Hamburg, Oldenburg, Bremen, Krefeld and Berlin.
