denkwerk and OBI are among the winners of this year’s AME Awards, the New York Festivals’ international competition for advertising and marketing effectiveness. The “OBI Cheering Orchestra” prevailed in the “Interactive Marketing” category and was awarded the bronze medal. “A viral website must inspire the user, actively involve them and encourage them to spread the word. The multiple-award-winning ‘OBI Cheering Orchestra’ is a good example of this”, says Jochen Schlaier, managing director of creation at denkwerk.

The Cologne full-service Internet agency showcased OBI as a national sponsor of the 2006 FIFA World Cup with a viral website. OBI fans could assemble their own cheering orchestra and send the composition to friends as an e-card with a personal greeting. In addition, the “denkwerk Xmas Concert”, an in-house corporate communications project from the Cologne creative workshop, was among the finalists for the AME Awards in the “Internet” category.

The AME Award is the only prize for advertising and marketing effectiveness that measures the effectiveness of advertising and public relations in an international environment. An interdisciplinary jury evaluates the submissions according to their degree of creativity and innovation as well as their placement in the international market environment.
