Game Focus Germany will present a high-calibre range of international speakers in Hanover on January 24 and 25, 2008. Noel Llopis, developer of the games “Darkwatch” and “Mech Assault” and author of numerous publications on game programming, is expected from the USA. Mike McShaffry, the programmer of “Ultima” and “Thief”, is also scheduled to appear.
Doug Church, games developer and producer at Electronic Arts, has confirmed as a special guest. He played a key role in the development of “Deus Ex” and “Tomb Raider: Legend” and works with Steven Spielberg. The list of speakers also includes Robin Hunicke, the developer of “My Sims”, as well as Greg Costikyan, winner of the “Game Developers Choice Maverick Award 2007”. Other prominent speakers will come from Germany, England, France and Belgium.
The annual Game Focus Germany is organised by nordmedia, the media company of the states of Lower Saxony and Bremen, the German Games Industry Association (BIU), and Northstar Developers e.V. Jöllenbeck has been secured as the main sponsor of Game Focus Germany. The networking party on January 24, 2008 will be supported by developer Black Lion Studios. Other sponsors are 10tacle Studios, Roccat, Weltenbauer, Metricminds and Dynamedion.
Registration can be completed on the event website, where further information is also available. Participants can flexibly choose which days they want to register for or whether they only want to attend the networking party. Group discounts are offered for companies and students.
