hr Director General Dr Helmut Reitze welcomed the positive result. He attributed the success to a new scheduling structure and current programme additions: “Whether winter storm Kyrill, the farewell to Bishop Kamphaus or the reception for the women’s football world champions at the Römerberg, we covered these and other important events that moved the people of Hesse extensively and live,” Reitze said. With successful entertainment programmes such as “Helden des Alltags” and “Dinner for One auf Hessisch,” hr television had also reached the hearts of many people in Hesse.
Within ARD, Hessischer Rundfunk also confirmed its excellent reputation in television-play productions in 2007. hr Tatort films and television plays such as “Windland” and “Späte Aussicht” made a major contribution to the success of Das Erste. The Tatort episode “Bevor es dunkel wird” even beat the Hollywood film “Pirates of the Caribbean” with Johnny Depp in November.
