VIRTUALREEL, software from portrix.net, was designed to let advertising agencies and commercial-film producers create DVD or online reels from commercial archives within minutes, avoiding lengthy searches, post-production requests, format conversions and associated costs. Jung von Matt, Kolle Rebbe, e+p commercial and jo!schmid were already using it.
The software archives unlimited digital commercials in their original format and automatically creates MOV/MPEG-4, Flash and MPEG-2 copies for immediate retrieval. Custom keywords, such as director, film producer or client, support rapid searches, and organisations with multiple sites can access shared archives.
After selecting commercials, users can create menu-driven DVDs or online reels in a few clicks. Preset layouts preserve a client’s, agency’s or production company’s corporate design. VIRTUALREEL was licensed for a low monthly rental price, with clients for Mac OS X and Windows and server support for Mac OS X, Solaris and Linux.
