SAE Institute opens European Degree Center in Oxford

Just one hour from London lies Oxford, the city of “dreaming spires” and home to one of the the oldest and most renowned universities in the world. This international centre of academic education, has now also been chosen as the location of the new European SAE Degree Center and thus provides the unique environment for study, knowledge and experience

From October 2008, the world’s largest campus for creative media will open its doors and offer the following industry-recognised, accredited certificates, diplomas and degree qualifications:

 Diploma of Audio Engineering

 Bachelor of Arts (Hons) Degree in Recording Arts

 Master’s Degree SAE Tonmeister

 Bachelor of Science (Hons) Degree in Game Design

 Master’s Degree in Game Design

 Bachelor of Arts (Hons) Degree in 3D Animation

 Master’s Degree in Interactive Media

All qualifications are awarded by partner Middlesex University, London and/or the SAE International Graduate College / Qantm Degree Granting College. From all SAE institutions worldwide, students now have the opportunity to complete their second year of study, or the entire course, at the new SAE Degree Center Oxford. Students from other educational institutions also have, after successfully passing an entrance examination, the opportunity to attend the courses offered at SAE Oxford. SAE Oxford also exclusively offers the SAE Tonmeister qualification (Master’s Degree), in audio engineering and music production, as the highest academic degree in sound-engineering education.

On a total site of 22,000 square metres stands SAE Oxford’s main building with a floor area of 8,400 square metres, as well as a further administration and accommodation building with a floor area of 3,500 square metres. The classical architecture houses the latest technology and a multimedia working and study environment that can hardly be compared with any other institution. The technical equipment in the recording studios is of the highest industry standard and offers state-of-the-art mixing consoles and controllers from renowned companies such as Neve, SSL, Digidesign and other top manufacturers, as known from the world’s most successful recording studios. State-of-the-art computer workstations, an extensive library filled with selected specialist literature, and a traditional recording studio including a Steinway grand piano make SAE Oxford a truly unique place for creative people. SAE’s study concept provides for students to schedule their working hours in studios and at workstations freely and to receive support from qualified staff around the clock.

The proximity to the British capital London, whose media industry is growing at breathtaking speed, offers students brilliant prospects for starting their careers after successfully completing their studies. SAE’s Global Work Placement programme, as well as the steadily growing SAE ALUMNI network, provide further assistance for entering professional life.
