Between 18 and 29 February, the Penta show truck will visit around 15 media locations, with workshops covering the new character-generation and graphics system.
A complete demonstration system will be carried on board for live evaluation.
XPression was designed for live operation, combining a 2D-oriented user interface with tools for creating 3D graphics. Operators can add virtual cameras and position and animate virtual lights in 3D space.
The application uses an object-oriented structure, allowing fonts, materials and textures to be reused or referenced throughout a project. Animations can be created with timelines, keyframes or transitions between pages in a rundown.
Object shaders support still-image, video and live-video textures. They can also copy the contents of a Windows application window and use it as an object texture, allowing websites or PC applications to appear inside broadcast graphics.
