The 6th German Audio Description Award goes to Das wahre Leben

In Berlin, patron Mario Adorf presented the award to Carl Bergengruen, Head of Television Films at submitting broadcaster Südwestrundfunk (SWR), on its behalf.

He also congratulated director Alain Gsponer and the lead actors Katja Riemann, Hannah Herzsprung and Ulrich Noethen.

For the first time, the jury of the German Audio Description Award announced two special prizes this year. In his tribute, actor Kai Wiesinger honoured Constantin Film AG and its particular commitment to audio-described films. Actress and jury member Brigitte Grothum presented the second special prize to Berufsförderungswerk Düren gGmbH for the audio-described version of the German silent film Vom Reiche der sechs Punkte from 1927.

The prominent jury responsible for selecting the winners includes film producer Prof. Regina Ziegler, Gabriel Heim (Director of Television at Rundfunk Berlin-Brandenburg) and Prof. Dr. Klaus Siebenhaar (Head of the Institute for Arts and Media Management at Freie Universität Berlin).

Nina Ruge hosted the evening and welcomed more than 450 guests from politics, culture, the media and show business.
