The success to date of the programme launched a year ago was decisive in the decision to increase the number of royalty-free images. The programme is also to be extended to additional languages and countries in the coming year.

At http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/clipart/ Microsoft Office Online offers its users advice articles, tips, workshops, clip art, downloads and other productivity-enhancing tools for all Microsoft Office programmes. Alternatively, users can navigate to the clip art through the Microsoft Office software. They have access to an extensive collection of iStockphoto images and other sources, which they can search free of charge and also download images from. With just a few mouse clicks, users can thus give their documents and presentations greater professionalism and impact.

“Customer reactions to the quality of the images have been extremely positive,” says a delighted Christopher Mascis, Business Development Manager at Microsoft Office Online. “iStockphoto helps us provide Microsoft Office Online users with free, high-quality images that make their Microsoft Office documents even more professional and effective. By working with iStockphoto, we deliver real added value to our customers – and the bar is constantly being raised.”

The free images on the site are ideally suited to most applications. In addition, users who need high-resolution images for advertising or marketing purposes can go directly from Microsoft Office Online to the iStockphoto website, where a pool of millions of images, illustrations and videos is available at low prices starting at one dollar.

“The fact that we are now providing Microsoft Office Online with our images caused quite a stir among iStockphoto contributors,” explains Garth Johnson, Vice President of Business and Community Development. “Many users who had never previously worked with microstock content are now using our images. Since we began making images available on the Microsoft Office website, tens of thousands of Microsoft Office users have registered to gain access to our collection of more than 2.8 million images and take full advantage of our offering.”
