Teraport Joins Siemens JT Open Programme

Siemens PLM’s JT Open programme provides a platform for using 3D data throughout the product lifecycle.

Teraport has joined the JT Open programme as a vendor member.

Siemens PLM Software provides the programme as an open platform for using 3D data across the product lifecycle. Independent software vendors, automotive manufacturers, suppliers and other end users form the JT Open community.

Teraport GmbH’s engineering division, part of the caatoosee group, supplies Digital Mock-Up systems through its DMU Toolkit. Membership continues the company’s strategy of developing flexible DMU solutions.

DMU Toolkit gains JT support

Teraport DMU Toolkit can now access JT development data directly and provide simulation results in JT format. Functions including automatic installation and removal simulation and fill-level analysis can be integrated with Siemens PLM systems. “This is another milestone for using our digital-prototyping software across interfaces,” says Teraport software-development director Alexander Trum.

JT Open membership allows Teraport to work with software manufacturers and industrial end users on future product-development requirements and evolution of the JT format. Managing director Hermann Gaigl expects the community to expand JT’s role in the PLM industry. “Our market position is strengthened, and this step provides customers with further proof that our software can operate openly in heterogeneous environments.”
