The Cologne Conference will take place at centrally located MediaPark venues including Cinedom, Filmhaus, Filmpalette and KölnTurm. Alongside its traditional examination of outstanding international television productions in the TopTen strand, the 2008 programme will again cover new media languages and current market trends in film, the internet, advertising and mobile entertainment. The cross-media festival strand Look, launched the previous year, presents the state of new film and media language.
Award ceremonies, advance premieres, workshop reports, retrospectives and numerous receptions complete the festival programme. Another highlight will be presentation of the €25,000 Film Award Cologne, received at Cinedom by Academy Award winner Paul Haggis the previous year. The City of Cologne and Filmstiftung NRW will again provide the award.
This year’s Cologne Conference lectures examine the digital media market, focusing particularly on how television can be produced, distributed and marketed successfully today.
