With the new company name, Wim Wenders is reviving a name that has been closely associated with his work for decades. There is no legal or business connection to the former Road Movies Filmproduktion GmbH. Instead, Neue Road Movies intends to take new paths for films and filmmakers with “road credibility.”
Wenders Images will continue as a GbR devoted exclusively to the photographic work of Wim and Donata Wenders.
Neue Road Movies GmbH presents its first film, THE PALERMO SHOOTING, currently in postproduction and starring Campino, Giovanna Mezzogiorno, and Dennis Hopper.
“You cannot repeat a glorious history like that of the old Road Movies. Founded in Berlin in 1976, it produced successfully for 25 years and earned an international reputation before going under in the Neuer Markt crisis. So, here we go again. On the road again!” said Wim Wenders.
